Hi all.

My wife and I were married in Mexico and are still waiting for the interview in Juarez. She is about 7 months pregnant and it's looking like our son will be born in Mexico. I am a US citizen and am pretty sure that our baby should have no trouble coming into the states, as long as my name is on the birth certificate. I have not informed the NVC or USCIS about her pregnancy and am now filling out the i864 for our case. What should I do to minimize the hurdles that we'll have to jump before bringing them up here?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

If you are a US citizen and have lived in the US most of your life then indeed, the child will not need a visa. He will need CRBA (Consular Record of Birth Abroad) and usually a US passport to travel though. If yopur wife has had the baby by the time of the interview, your household count for the I-864 goes up by one.
