Hey all! I am wondering about my case. I paid a lawyer to prepare all my documents, send them off, and advise us on everything from start to finish. I have not been able to reach my lawyer in almost a month. Should I worry and consult another lawyer to sue the first lawyer? I have paid in full all my fees to him already.

Have you tried using all means to contact him/her? Email, phone call, voice mail, personsal visit??

Still haven't recieved visa yet: I was lucky enough to get my money back because the flight canceled.

5/1/10 Wedding

AOS

7/19/10 Mailed AOS Package

7/21/10 Package Received

7/27/10 Check Cashed

7/30/10 Recieved NOA

8/13/10 Case transfered to CSC!

8/18/10 Received biometrics letter

8/26/2010 Biometrics appt

9/13/2010 EAD and AP approved

9/18/2010 AP recieved

9/23/2010 EAD recieved

10/1/2010 Greencard Approved

10/09/2010 Greencard Recieved, DONE with USCIS until August 2012

Have you received your NOA1 receipt as your timeline says you have back in April. Hmmmmm you are still within the 5 month period of approval but that fact that you can't get hold of him mmmmm sounds very suspicious to me. Can you get someone to help suss this person out.

Divorced !st November 2012.

Married only 2 years 1 month

You paid a US lawyer or a JA lawyer? If it's a US lawyer, send him a fax, email, and letter by certified mail - give him a deadline for response (less than a week at this point) and if no response go straight to the bar association and file a grievance -

If it's a JA lawyer, good luck with that one!

You don't typically need a lawyer to get through this process - but you need to find out what the first lawyer has or has not done.

Yes, I have called and left messages, and emailed several times. I have not personally visited b/c the law firm and he is in NY while I'm in AR. So your process from file date to him coming to the states took 5 months total? Im not including the once he got here processes.

The process is longer than 5 months, that is just the time line to get through USCIS.
