travel agencies always quote prices w/visa. you can also buy ticket direct from eva and go to any travel agency and get the visa for $50. don't know the price if you do it direct from the embassy (i've read on here people doing that through embassy in san fran).

Right, I was just saying that the 972.50 doesn't include visa.

do you know what booking class the ticket was. it'll be something like X-Economy Class or B-Economy Class or whatever.

BTW, i checked online, lowest price for my fare went up from $972 to $1053 and that doesn't include visa.

if you haven't chosen a seat yet, you can do so on EVA's website

https://eservice.evaair.com/EVAB2C/ESEVSET001.aspx

you can look here for a guide to seats, i chose 777 because that's what the transpacific flight usually is, but you can select for other planes and airlines as well.

All I know is its just economy.

booking classes have different rules and determine different perks. for example, mileage rewards. If you hit a certain tier, you will get perks like bringing extra baggage allowance, priority waitlist, access to VIP lounge and what not. not really a must, but if you fly enough, it's a nice perk.

Count me in as being confused too.

My wife tried to submit the DS 2001 and DS 230 today at the HCMC Consulate and the front desk person said (I'll withhold detailing her rudeness, typical of Vietnamese employees) to submit on the day of interview. Huh?

So is the email notice from NVC with appointment date THE appointment letter? It had a "P4" to the right of the barcode as well.

Hope someone can help clarify this for us.

any clarification on this?? thanks!!

To quotes a movie, “So how does it happen, great love? Nobody knows... but what I can tell you is that it happens in the blink of an eye. One Moment you're enjoying your life, and the next you're wondering how you ever lived without them.” I felt I found something with Kieu that is rare in life... true love.

We just received an email from NVC stating that my wife's interview will be on September 23 at 10AM. NVC completed the DS-230 package on August 1. I assume this letter is what we need to get the medical done and to enter the HCMC. Good luck to everyone having scheduled interview in September.
