Hey all,

Just want to share that our case was completed at NVC on July 29 and the operator said to check back in mid-August for an interview date. However, got an email this morning notifying that my wife has an interview date on September 15!

Any others who have a September interview date?

Also, can someone please clarify if Packet 3 is the email docs that NVC just sent to us (stating interview date and checklist of docs for interview)? Or will it be emailed (or hand delivered) directly from HCMC Consulate?

Any other advice on next steps will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Wow!! That was fast for getting an interview date assigned! Congratulations!

Three of my friends have gotten September interview dates in the last couple of days (all at different embassies).

Not sure what the procedure is for your (your wife's) country in regards to the medical exam, so hopefully someone else can give you a bit of guidance there

Good luck!

Congratulations!

For our k-1 visa, packet 3 was supposedly mailed but fiancé never received it so we downloaded forms. Packet three for k-1 consisted of Ds 2001 and ds 230 part 1.

Packet 4 was an appointment letter and checklist of everything that was needed for interview. They talk about process at http://hochiminh.us consulate.gov.

Best wishes!

Can my wife get the medical with the letter with interview date from NVC or does she need to wait for the appointment letter from the consulate?

My case was completed on July 25. Just got an email this morning too, interview date scheduled on September 14 so I just called to book my airline ticket for September 1. I really have no idea if CR-1 process will be getting packet 3, anyone know anything about packet 3? I believe the email today regarding interview date scheduled is packet 4 cause it says P4. Congrats everyone and goodluck.

I'm curious as well as i'm doing a cr-1 as well, and the e-mail i got did say p4 on it. I'm confused, is what we have the appointment letter referred to here?

Count me in as being confused too.

My wife tried to submit the DS 2001 and DS 230 today at the HCMC Consulate and the front desk person said (I'll withhold detailing her rudeness, typical of Vietnamese employees) to submit on the day of interview. Huh?

So is the email notice from NVC with appointment date THE appointment letter? It had a "P4" to the right of the barcode as well.

Hope someone can help clarify this for us.

FYI, i called a travel agency, he said EVA roundtrip LAX to SGN is $1050 for mid September. He said to buy before Aug 6, or the price will change.

I called my travel agency too, Vietnam China airline no more opening for September 1, Eva airline $1030 and China airline is $1010. I booked China.

travel agencies always quote prices w/visa. you can also buy ticket direct from eva and go to any travel agency and get the visa for $50. don't know the price if you do it direct from the embassy (i've read on here people doing that through embassy in san fran).
