I wouldn't bother. They just updated the processing times to may 2011, so we're still within their processing time (which is more than 6 months).

looks like by the time or before we receive the new GC, we would be eligible to apply for citizenship!!!

Yes, we'll be close. I'm planning to just wait a bit and get my money's worth and just use my 10 year greencard for a few years minimum. I think I'll apply in 2014 or 2015 before the next election and right before my Canadian passport expires. I know I'm in no rush to do more paperwork AND pay another fee!!

The longer you wait, the higher are the chances of paying more (I believe). Every few years, the fee for Naturalization and/or Biometrics and/or Passport goes up by certain amount. I know that the entire process of becoming a US citizen is too expensive, but I would do it sooner than later.

Hang in there... VSC is completing "June 2011 Filers" now. If you consider the average time for VSC is 7 1/2 months to approve, we have still some time to go. My guess is we will be starting approved sometime in April. Until then, guys try to be patient !...

The longer you wait, the higher are the chances of paying more (I believe). Every few years, the fee for Naturalization and/or Biometrics and/or Passport goes up by certain amount. I know that the entire process of becoming a US citizen is too expensive, but I would do it sooner than later.

I'm not really too concerned with a few hundred dollars if and when they increase their fees. I just gave them $500, why should I go and give them another $595 right now if I don't really need to? A few hundred dollars will not make or break us at all.

And, if and when they make an announcement that they are raising the fees, I might even have some time to get an application in before the price hike if it's worth the savings.

You should hear something very soon, look %76 of May Filers have been approved by VSC & most of them have received their 10-year GC already !.... Yours is around the corner.

The reason/s that it took so long for you, you have had probably a RFE plus interview. Under normal circumstances, I do not think it would take that long

What happened when your conditional resident status 12 month extension granted with the I-797C NOA expired? Did they issue a new one?

I agree this case is not the norm and can not be compared to any others, especially for August filers.
