PLEASE HELP - THE ENVELOPE

Oh God you guys

I just pulled the DO NOT OPEN envelope out of the plastic bag that it came in and realized that there is a hole on its side. On the side of the envelope itself, I mean, not on the side of the bag. It's not a very big hole, I think it's about an inch wide, but I am TOTALLY FREAKING OUT about it. It must have happened on the way here, because I put it in a drawer to keep it safe, still in the plastic bag, and I haven't touched it at all since then. Am I screwed? Oh God what do I do? Please help, I'm freaking out here! :crying:

The same thing happened to me, mine was sent to me Express Post and it got ripped, very badly, in transport. The express post envelope was destroyed and so was the "do not open" envelope. I emailed the consulate right away and someone called me to ask about it. I had to courier it back to them along with another return post envelope. They wanted it back to make sure everything was still there and nothing had fallen out. I know they wouldn't have taken mine at the border, it was torn open, I could have looked at everything inside. I would email right away if you can and return it to them to put in a new envelope.

I've decided to send it all back to them. I just don't want to risk it, I don't want to be agonizing about this all the way there. Better safe than sorry.

Actually, scratch that!

My fiance called my POE and talked to an immigration officer who basically said that a tear that small is absolutely NO PROBLEM. She said that it's only a problem if the tear is big enough to allow someone to add/remove documents from the envelope. Obviously not the case with mine. I'm good to go!
