Though we're not #1 on that list, I am not at all suprised that Florida is in financial troubles. After all, we have been and continue to be mismanaged by the same fiscally inept crowd that left the federal finances in shambles - the GOP.

Look at where those Fed dollars are going. Military and Natives. I say cut it, and cut it big. Why should the natives up here get a free ride? The US tax payers pay for all the Alaskan natives health, housing, travel expenses, etc... You are paying for the natives up here...and why? I say cut it...but it's the libs who want the US tax payers to pay for everything for the natives up here. Blame the libs.

Texas has passed its budget and did the slashing and gotten its balanced budget as always. They have to do so as there is an amendment that tells them they have to have a balanced budget. Now they do sell bonds for high expense projects like highways. The state is not allowed to spend more than they bring in.
