I got my NOA2 back in june, and the NVC gave us our case number when we asked. I still have not received anything from the london embassy. I should receive my police check this week and I will go for the medical as soon as, I am told the wait time is one week.

So everything should be ready for when they do eventually contact me (I will probably have sent it before then!). But why the hold up?

Also, does anyone know how long the typical wait is between them receiving packet three, sending packet 4, and the actual interview date?

I guess you already know this now... but until you get the medical done they won't arrange an interview date.

1-NOA2

2-Case number

3-Book medical

4-Wait for packet 3 (compile whilst waiting, I sent mine off before I actually got the packet 3 letter)

5-Have medical (this can come before you compile packet 3, just get it booked as soon as you get your case number, as long as you have you police cert. to take)

6-Once the embassy has your medical results (4-5 days from medical) and your packet 3 (takes about 1-2 weeks to process) they will set you an interview date, normally one month or a little bit longer from the time they have everything logged.

I sent off my packet 3 and had my medical the same day, everything was logged by two weeks later and they issued my interview for exactly a month later. You can find out your interview date sooner than the embassy sends out the letter by phoning the DOS, get your fiance to do this as it's an American number.

Good luck.

You can always call the DOS to find out the status and if London has logged your case, which I am assuming they have.....

As soon as your case has been logged and packet 3 has been issued (which the DOS can tell you), feel free too send back Packet 3. Packet 3 is just a link: http://london.usembassy.gov/iv_15.html

Oh wait I just found this...

It is a letter from the embassy. It says something like we are ready for you to apply because we have your file now. Go to this link for your instructions.

You might want to read this page too http://london.usembassy.gov/kprocessing.html. Note on the right it says

Applicants who have received a letter from the Immigrant Visa Unit at the Embassy advising them that an approved petition has been received in their name and of the case number accorded to their application, should follow this link for further information.
[the link Kristen gave]
Note:
Only applicants who been notified by the Immigrant Visa Unit that a petition has been received in their name should complete the visa application forms. Forms received without the applicant's case number will be discarded.
.

Call and find out if they have sent out your letter. Maybe it got lost. Call DOS and ask what Kristen said---if your case has been logged in by Lonson. If yes, then mail forms.
