WONDERING HOW TO MAKE MY FILIPINA ABOUT BUDGETING....SHE SEEMS TO HV NO IDEA OF WHAT IT TAKES TO MAKE MONEY AN BE ABLE TO SAVE OR BUDGET... SOMETIMES I THINK SHE THINKS MONEY JUST FALLS FROM TREES HERE... BELIEVE ME,,I NOT THE BEST WITH MONEY BUT I KNOW WHAT AN WHEN THINGS NEED TO BE PAID... IF I ASK HER WHERE THE MONEY WENT,,MOST THE TIME SHE GETS MAD BECAUSE I DONT TRUST HER WITH MONEY SHE SAYS... THANKS FOR ANY IDEAS....GREG

Ask her to look for a job, when she get's her paycheck, show her the monthly bills or even just the expenses that she incurred, and make her pay for it. Just tell her that you wanted her to build her own credit so that she will not think that you don't trust her. She will then know the value of hard work. That way she will evaluate first her needs vs her wants.

Just remember, you are the boss. When the brujas get together, they tell me that every time I walk into the kitchen, before they go back to ignoring me and cooking their foul smelling concoctions.

 Do you mind explaining...how to..."make her"...pay for it..?

In my first mariage I paid the bills and if my wife was working I let her spend "her" money how she liked.

Towards the end, I said Hey, you are working you can pay some bills. and I told her she could pay the electric bill.

She said NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

I said if you don't pay it, they will turn off our electricity.

She was not about to pay a bill.

Naturally I kept paying the electric bill but one day I turned off the electricty outside the house before she got home.

Then when she left I would turn the electricty back on.

This went on for a couple of weeks before I got "caught"

I thought it was funny but I guess that was just one more thing we disagreed about.

She never did pay the electric bill

If i turned the electricity off in my house my wife would probably laugh at me on how i managed the house without electricity, bein that she came from an island with no electricity and no running water. But your story was funny, it would have been hilarious if i could have done that to my first wife who is a spoiled rotten American girl.

Ask her to find a job, maybe this way she will find out how hard to earn money. Show to her all the bills you're paying and remind her that you both need an "emergency money" in the bank just in case something happen (God forbid). Get a notebook and list all your expenses and bills payment , she may not know how to budget but you can start and teach her how.

i agree, getting a job is an eye opener. :)

i make sure to pay the electric bill. after a hard day's work I don't want to come home to a dark house! kakatakot! :crying:

Tsk Tsk Tsk back to you. :bonk: I was being facetious. :bonk: A husband / wife should never "make" their spouse do anything. :bonk:

Just in case you need a vocabulary lesson.....,

fa·ce·tious

  [fuh-see-shuhthinsp.pngs] dictionary_questionbutton_default.gif adjective

1. not meant to be taken seriously or literally: a facetious remark.

2. amusing; humorous.

3. lacking serious intent; concerned with something nonessential, amusing, or frivolous: a facetious person.

Stick around and after awhile you will learn, I am (quite often) facetious. ;)
