Hello VJ members!

I have filed for naturalization & residing in philadelphia. Hence, I am wondering if anyone from philadephia had been through the naturalization interview & oath ceremony, please answer me for the following queries:

1. USCIS office locations in philadelphia for Naturalization interview?

2. USCIS office locations in philadelphia for oath ceremony?

3. How long do they (philadelphia USCIS office)take usually for scheduling a date from Fingerprint to Interview and from Interview to Oath ceremony?

I know the answers could be vary with each person. Though I am trying to figure out the standard timeline for Philadelphia USCIS office.

Your answers will be highly appreciated.

Thanking you.

Go to this link and enter at the bottom of the screen your zip code... it should give you the local office you will go for your interview and probably the oath

https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=offices.type&OfficeLocator.office_type=LO

You should also go to this link to see where you will do your biometrics if you are not familar with the location.

https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=offices.type&OfficeLocator.office_type=ASC

Each person and office will have a different timeline. It is not easy to quantify it with a simple number. You can search through the threads in the monthly filers lists and see who else filed in Philadelphia and keep an eye on them if they have not completed the process yet.

So for example, in June, one person is there and you can see where they are at right now.... http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/314741-n-400-june-2011-filers/page__st__300

Thank you for your quick reply. I have checked it out through your links & been very useful.

It seems like USCIS started to slow down as most of the June 2011 filers haven't got any interview schedule yet. However I will keep tracking the process through others VJ members

I really appreciate your reply. VJ members were always been helpful to each others. I couldn't be where I am today unless the helps I had from VJ members.

I am glad to see that you have already done through this process. As per your timeline, It took Four months only with your application. The most amazing thing, they gave you a schedule for the oath ceremony right after two days of your interview date. If that is the standard way in philadelphia, then hope it will apply on my case also. I am just counting days......

Thank you once again for sharing your case & the address of USCIS local field office at philadelphia.

Biometric appointment given on August 15, 2011

I am very glad to help, since I know how painful waiting is....

In terms of Oath ceremony: when I had my citizenship test on March 7th, the officer asked me at the end of the test when I would like to have my oath ceremony. I said:"as soon as possible", and I got the date March 9th.

For some people they are sending invitation by mail later.

I have two more friends who had their test at the same office for citizenship and they were asked about date they would like to come for oath by the end of the test. So, you shouldn't wait long after you pass your test.

Good luck again!

You have given me the greatest information about how to coduct an oath ceremony early. Thank you so much for that.

Is there anything else I should know related to interview questions or documents to carry with?

In terms of the test, it was 5 minutes deal. I remember, officer gave me 3 questions from that book/CD and one sentence to write in English, one sentence to read, that was it.

It terms of documents, I don't remember, but I think, they give you list of documents that you have to bring for the test in that notice (notice, green card etc.)

Don't worry, it is not that bad as it sounds!

Best of luck!
