I am pregnant by my husband. He wants me to have another abortion...

It is your body, your baby, your choice, yes he has an opinion, but you have the final decision. While I do not agree with his stand, and think he is some sorta of a control freak, he is entitled to his opinion. Though I can never be pregnant (wrong gender), I would never ask someone to make that decision or ask them to kill a part of me off. Dude is a loser.

Your post is missing the element of intellegence. Your a very weak minded person. Although i am totally against abortion, for you, my friend, it may not have been such a bad idea. :)

Interesting you refer to intelligence and then follow up with such a flaming insult. Get over yourself. Bottom line, you do not get to decide what a woman does with her body.

How can one claim God cares to judge a fornicator over judging a lying, conniving bully? I guess you would if you are the lying, conniving bully.

That comment was in no way directed to you. We were having an adult discussion, and then some mongoloid came in and tried to stir me up. Now back to our discussion...

Your absolutely right, I do not get to decide what a woman does with her body. Heres a rhetorical question for you Peezey. Whats the difference between a woman who gets a late abortion and a woman who drowns her week old baby in a bath tub? Are both considered murder? Or only one? Or perhaps, neither because "its her body, her baby"

Bottom line, you must believe an unborn baby is not alive. And I disagree with you. Thus making this not about womens rights, but about life and death.

Look, it was never my intention to start a battle. The OP asked for help, so i simply stated an option that was never mentioned. I didnt ask for your "opinion" when i initially stated mine, nor did i bash the OP for getting an abortion. Your first little sexist comment was the first strike.

Now im gonna go ahead and "get over myself"......

You may not have intended to start a battle, but with Peezey ANY comment, post, or slight burp is cause to go to battle. Your best approach is probably to just not give a sh!t what it says and ignore it.

Mongoloid? How dare you.

In the UK Mongoliod was a deeply offensive and derogatory term for people with Down's Syndrome.

These members of our society (and they ARE members of our society) have to struggle EVERY DAY to cope with fitting into a society where anybody who looks or acts differently is thought of as second best or a "freak".

Luckily, most of the UK no longer uses this term for DS affected people anymore. Whether you were referring to DS specifically or were simply just using it as a "retard" insult is irrelevant.

You really need to think twice about the sort of insults you throw about around here.

unfortunately im not in or from the UK. In the US, that word has gained a meaning as a "person with extremely low intellegence" and thats how i used the word. Its rarely used in its original context as a very degrading term to DS. Nor did i, or would i ever, use it in that context. My adopted sister has downs.

Perhaps now you will think about using that term in the future. There are people of many different cultures and beliefs on this site. It pays to think twice. I've learned that myself from experience.

Either way, using a term that implies a mental handicap is very insulting, even here in the US. As I am a teacher of students with disabilities, I get extremely upset (and very defensive of my "kids") when someone uses a term like this or calls someone a "retard" and makes those ugly hand motions towards another. Insult my special kids and I turn into a holy terror!

Now...as to this thread...maybe the OP will resurface to read all of this advice that's been given to her.

Actually, its ORIGINAL meaning is in relation to a prehistoric classification of people. That is how people with DS came to be called "Mongoloid".... they tend to have similar features to the original mongoloid peoples. When I hear Mongoloid, that is what I think of....the prehistoric people. The term was never really used around here in relation to DS except in older textbooks which described the appearance of a DS person as "Mongoloid in appearance".

True, but like a lot of words in our language it has been made into a derogatory term. There are a lot of words that have been sorely misused over time, giving them derogatory and/or highly insulting meanings.

What a way to butcher a language, eh?

You are out of your mind! Or maybe it's your age, but it is an extremely derogatory term in the US, too. Used just as the poster explained. Really, you must do your research. It was actually an accepted medical term for many years, used in public hosptials where people had thrown away their DS children in the early and middle part of the 20th century.
