Hi All,

I was just wondering if after my husband's interview in Cd. Juarez can he cross to the U.S. right away? We want to catch a flight from El paso to San Diego. What do you guys think??

It can take about 2 days to 10 days to recieve the visa from DHL delivery service once he is approved. When he gets it from DHL he can cross immediately

wait, so lets say ur approved by the consulate, you cant pass immediately? u have to wait? for?

You have to wait to get your passport back which will have the Visa inside of it. Like everyone else has said. They take your passport at the interview, and with DHL courier services set up they get it back to you. Then, you can cross.

Prior you husband's interview, he needs to get his biometrics done and pick a DHL branch, he can actually get it anywhere in the Country.

Please visit this website and you'll get all the info you need there.

Make sure he gets his fingerprints and pictures done before his interview, he can do it in Juarez or at any CSC office which are located near the Embassy or any American Consulate. It takes 2 business days to get processed in Cd Juarez. Anywhere else is takes 5 to 7 business days.

Is this something that's required at all embassies, or only certain ones? It's the first time I've heard of having to do this.

Every embassy is different--check with yours unless someone here has specific experience--in Costa Rica, it seems to depend on the day of the week for the interview--it is possible that you can pick up the visa late the same day up until a week later, but a day or two seems normal--no DHL--they just call when it is ready.

But my point is in telling the story is that CR has their own way of doing things which is quite informal whereas CDJ has a very strict procedure since they handle thousands and thousands of visas in a year.

And Chile is probably somewhere in between.

Its kind of confusing. Okay so do I have to sign up to enter the page or what? Is it better to do it before heading to juarez?

And when i sign up am i entering his information or mine?

I'm sorry to break this to you, getting your biometrics done is mandatory in Mexico for any kind of American Visa. And you have to do it at least 2 business days before the interview if you do it in Juarez and you need to make an appointment. Please read my review on this link

http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?trim=no&cty=&cnty=Mexico&page=4&dfilter=5

It explains how to do it, anyways on the website I told you before you can find Ciudad Juarez CSC number just in case you have any more questions or I'll gladly help you.

I don't know when is your husband having his interview but I highly recommend you to start looking into it and get his biometrics done ASAP

Praying everything works out :)
