Hello Everyone,

Was just wondering, what is the best method of payment for filing fees? I was thinking that if one were to pay by Postal Money Order they would consider this a confirmed reciept of payment as opposed to a Personal Check, which must "Clear" the Applicant's bank to assure reciept of payment. Do you think this would have an affect on the approval time?

Either way is fine, Postal mony order is as good as cash, you can verify with the post office that it has been cashed, If your bank returns your canceled checks you may consider using a personal check because there will be case number on the back.

It makes no difference which method of payment on processing time. They don't wait for a check to clear before processing.

USCIS accept personal check for I-130, I-129F. When your personal check is cleared, then you would know that your NOA-1 is on its way.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview
