I just talked to NVC hoping to confirm receipt of my DS230. The operator said it must be in the building but that her computer cannot confirm receipt. Then she added that my I864 was accepted as ok.

So nice to know I won't get an RFE on the I864. I guess it pays to keep calling. The operators at NVC seem to want to be helpful.

I was given the usual 20-day response to review the DS230.

Well, since you just sent the DS-230, the operators won't know if it's in the building or not till it's reviewed and that won't be for another week at least.

But great news that your AOS was accepted! In about 2 weeks, you should have a case complete!

*grins* It may not; was chatting with him last night, and apparently he may have the money by early next week. I told him I'd believe it when I got a picture of him with the check. :P So our target is a January/February interview date. Woo? :P

Haha, I wouldn't believe either unless I had a picture.

And if you're quick with everything, you can still get an interview at Montreal at the end of this year. Remember, from the date you send out the packages to the date of your interview, is about 3 months for Canada. If you can get your packages sent out sometime this month, you still have a high chance for a November/December interview ;)

Well, that would be good if I had everything I needed to send both out; however.. we've yet to get the police clearance. And his birth certificate. And I swear, molasses is like water compared to the speed at which he gets things. If the money comes in like promised, I may come up to stare at him till he gets things done. ;) At the very least, I will pester him through IM and text.. 'Have you filled the forms yet? Have you answered the questions so /I/ can fill the forms? Didja get the clearance? Didja get the birth cert? Didja? Didja? Didja? Huh? Didja? *pokepokepoke* *prodprod* :innocent:

Holding my nose and jumping off the cliff.. hope I don't hit any rocks in the water.

Haha laughing.gif I think it's going to be required that you just go up there, sit and stare at him till he gets everything needed. And refuse kisses and hugs (and everything else) until he gets his butt moving!

You can request an expedite at USCIS to get the I-130 looked at faster. Then you can request another expedite at NVC for the case to be sent to the consulate/embassy asap. But in both cases, you need a really good reason.
