Even though My case is closed at NVC I sent an email from mine and my wife's email add to NVC regarding this issue.

After almost 2 days I received reply in my wife's email from NVC

"As this petition is no longer located at the NVC you must resubmit your inquiry or request, and all future correspondence to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate General noted below .......etc"

But I received proper guidance via email And it clarifies almost everything

Question 25 of the I-864, or question 11 on I-864A should always match the adjusted gross income per the most recent tax return regardless if the taxes are filed jointly.

The above quote is not correct. It cannot be complete and accurate as "adjusted gross income" is the number used only when filing a 1040 EZ. Please provide more context and a complete quote.

Pushbrk, can you clarify what should be the amount that needs to be shown in I-864 of a co-sponsor, who files jointly, as per your reasoning with an example. Let's say the joint income is 100,000 and the income of the co-sponsor in that is 70,000. Appreciate your clarification.

My parents were my joint sponsors as well. I was using their address for all my information as I was living abroad, so I had the same worries as you. Every thing turned out fine in the end - we both used the I-864.

The joint sponsor answers the exact question asked. The question starts with the word "My", not "Our". My current individual annual income is:

Only if the Joint Sponsor's spouse is providing an I-864a, would the joint income be stated at all, and when it is, it's on line 24c.
