And for the unpteenth time I agree with you on the Fed dollars going up here. Cut off the Fed dollars via BIA and low and behold... Alaska isn't getting near as much fed tax dollars going to it. I say cut em off now, but it's the Libs who for some twisted reason want to spend billions of US tax dollars on the natives up here. Go figure eh.

Alaska got so much federal money for so long because of Frank Murkowski and Ted Stevens. There is also the issue of petrol tax dollars. For every $1 in gasoline taxes that Alaskans pay, they get $6.60 back for road projects etc. Would you happen to have any links for info on the amount of money that the natives get from the federal government? I have found nothing that quotes any meaningful statistics.

Maybe it's because they don't want them back on a subsistence diet of whale and seal meat.

The natives up here get busted repeatedly for shooting walruses for the ivory tusk and selling said tusk (throwing the meat away) for drugs. They end up with a slap on the hand. If that was you or I that got busted for that ####### we would never see the light of day.

Add to the fact that they come into town with their government welfare money and blow it on booze and drugs, and use their food stamp card for steaks and candy.....

And then you take the medical, dental, and water - sewer - building maintenance teams that fly out to those villages...some with populations of 100 or less and add up the cost. My wife fly's to native villages that have schools and medical facility's that cost into the tens of millions of dollars, yet the population of said villages is less than 100 people. Then you have to keep those buildings heated...oil heat is all they have..and it's not cheap. The only time those million dollar medical facility's get used is when a medical team fly's in twice a year to use them for a week or two.

Free housing for all natives...HUD housing that cost a god awful amount to build all those houses in the middle of nowhere. Fly in only.

That's only the half of it. I could write a book about it.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

The Feds want that oil..then they have to pay us for it. It's Alaska's oil, not the Feds. Remember that.

You have google, look up Fed money spending on Alaska natives...don't leave out the BIA either. The natives get Fed money from more than one resource.

Wrong kip, Alaska is a state within the United States, so it is the Federal government's oil. I know I have google available to me and thus far I haven't found anything, hence why I asked if you knew any sources.....

At least in Ontario, the alcohol content is much higher than it is in U.S. beer, and you get a side of healthcare with that poor decision.

I did. Did you? See, the article in the link made no reference to what Florida puts in vs. what it takes out. All it says is that 30% of our budget relies on federal funds. If those federal funds get cut, our ratio will no longer be $0.97 but rather $0.90 or $0.85 or somesuch. You just can't get yourself to admit that you live in a state that is a federal teat sucker. As is Alaska, by the way, which receives $1.84 for every dollar paid. They're actually the worst federal teat suckers of all.

i just checked your state clock - seems like you better get back to work, there's a deficit piling up there. :hehe:
