NVC's new trick - AOS status "IN PROCESS"

Hi NavyK, I just checked my AOS bill status and it is "PAID' .

what's next step ?

Logon and print the AOS Cover Sheet with Bar Code and then send your I-864 packet to NVC.

By the way, just checked my status of AOS bill and it shows "paid".... print the bar code sheet and I am off to post office... Can someone confirm the address where I need to send AOS package?

Well, *this* inspired me to call NVC again.. I was a bit more insistant about the problem.. This time they said 2-4 days and he agreed there was an issue.. He said "I'll have a Supervisor investigate why your account has not updated, why don't you just mail in your documents now?" - He said it very matter-of-factly

"I can do that?"

Yes sir

"Are you sure"

Yes sir - just use the same cover sheet you used for the IV package

"Should I change the CMR to AOS?"

No Sir -- Current Mail Review will work just fine

...and there will be no problems

Thanks for the info. I will wait for one more day and get my own confirmation (tonight) before using the IV Cover sheet for the AOS packet. Planning to send tomorrow.

YESSSS!!! I told you guys!!! And I even got a phone rep today who said my idea for mailing them in with 2 copies of the same coversheet was fine, as long as when I called the system says it's paid. Yes, I used the Jedi mind trick. heh heh.

BTW: AOS shows PAID as of 30 minutes ago, so I am running out to the post office! Everyone check for PAID AOS today!

@NavyK lol... yah thats how NVC work, I guess the reason ur AOS still show "in process" because of your wrong case# initially....

Yes. First time when my case number was in the process of change, i called NVC and asked the rep whether I should wait and pay after change. She insisted that it doesn't make any difference - obviously it did and I am in the process.

I went ahead and mailed it.. I missed the outgoing mail by 10 minutes at USPS so it will get there "Wednesday before noon or its free!" ... Which means they have 17 days to review and give me an interview date that would still allow a September interview.. I Don't like that it still says "In Progress" but then my USCIS login still says I am in "Initial Review" with the last touch occurring on March 7th I'm going to keep bugging them to get it changed and also keep reminding them that they said it was OK for me to mail it..

I don't think I would do this with the IV package - I can reproduce the AOS package with a touch of a button but the IV document package would be painful to recreate.

My AOS status is "PAID"

IV FEE is "IN PROCESS" - hubby just paid today.

Any idea how long will it take for the IV FEE to be in status "PAID"?

Oh, thats without a doubt. No way in hell would I send the IV packet without the true barcode sheet.

I just spoke with a NVC rep and explained my whole situation and the fact that my AOS documents are ready to be sent to NVC. She said that the supervisor was notified just today to review the issue with AOS fee status and it will take time. Since my AOS documents are ready, she asked me to use the IV Barcode Sheet to send my AOS packet (she noted the same - I guess in the system), as it needs to be snet to the same department. She also clarified that the barcode is used to scan the documents into the right account and hence it is alright and that it would save me time in getting both the packets reviewed and by that time the status of the AOS fee gets resolved.

My AOS documents will be dispatched first thing tomorrow by USPS Overnight :dance:.

I have read on this site that some people have gotten their case number from NVC in less then 2 weeks. I received my letter on July 20th about the approval of the petition and still haven't received anything from the NVC office. But, every time I called the NVC automated service, it tells me there is no record of my receipt number. Should I be worried???

I got my NOA2 approval June 24th and I have yet to receive my NVC case number. Your in for a wait. If they do not have it in a month or so, start panicking.
