Sounds right but not yet a Very good news because the PD is still basically Dec 2008.

Receiving interview letter who has PD of 1/1/2009 is not surprising. We all expect this as someone in the forum already predicted that the next VB would be 1/1/09 based on our c0-members' interview sked. We need to hear more of interview letters whose PD's are at least 03/2009 to bring hope to everyone.

sorry friend.....wait for 3 or 4 more days....and then jump onto some conclusion.......no person other than our 2 or 3 fellow members have got any interview letters in any other category....that means still there is hope for some good news.....and i do believe that if they give priority to other categories this month then they will give more importance to f2a next month or there after bcaz we have highest visas.....88000....so dont worry and get some patience...

Hi see the previous years visa office report. Of 88000, only 1000 to 2000 visas are allotted to countries like India, China and Philippines. F4 is issued more number of visas than F2.

they have divided f2a into three two parts....exempted visa and 7% rule visas....so india and china dont have that much filing in f2a...in fact maxico has highest filing...so all the world have same cutoff date and maxico and phillipines (now the have same with the world) have different....so india and china having very few filings under f2a have to move with the world ...and so they are alloted less visas in f2a .....this is my opinion.....correct me if i am wrong....

Lets hope for at least March 2009 PD.

My understanding..

1. Mexico is exempted so 7% rule is not applied hence more F2A visas..agreed.

2. But I don't see there is any rule that says all the countries should have same cut off dates. Hence cut off dates will vary depending on the demand from a country.

3. I will assume that F2A category (7% of 88000) is higher than F4 category (7% of 65000) for any given country. If so, why the F4 is issued more visas than F2 for countries like India and china where as for Philippines it is the other way.

4. I would think that they apply 7% arbitrarily, say, other categories including employment based categories are given more than 7% and then they restrict F2A, issuing less number of visas so as to not exceed 7% over all limit. Let me know if I am wrong here, why the 7% limit is not applied to each of the categories separately?

Right questions and all valid but IMHO, wrong place to ask. It should be directed to CIS Ombudsman (http://www.dhs.gov/files/programs/editorial_0497.shtm)

The quotas are as per INA regulations and the fine print states whenever the quotas arent filled it flows from F2 to F3 to F4 and so on, but retroactively doesnt rollup to F2 the next year, if it is wasted. So in order for USCIS/NVC to look pretty with the numbers, they move it to F4, thereby justifying any congressional questioning of visa wastage.

To prevent such farce, it is on the stakeholders to ask questions on their deemed transparency, but since there is currently no ombudsman for NVC, the only path appears to ask CIS for now.

My 2 cents.

Hello my people

I called NVC 2 days ago and a lady told me that my husband didn't have an interview date. Today I call again and I was surpised when they tell me that the interview date will be on october 5, 2011. I did not expect that at all. Thanks God! For those who are still waiting, your interview will come soon. God Bless you!
