Question:

My son's PD is Jan 10, 2010.

Due to speedy processing of F2As at NVC last year, the case was completed by 12/2010 and we were waiting for an interview date before the retrogression occurred.

As of now, case is complete at NVC. Hopefully, the PD will become current in few months.

Do I need to contact NVC regarding this matter? According to their info, the case is closed if >1 year passes by without any communication. Any suggestions?

After your case is complete, everything is fine, don't worry about the year issue. That only apply if they request something from you and they don't hear from you for a year.

i dont think cutoff date will will move to august 2010 in near future....the reasons is huge filing in 2010 later half....and one more thing, the advancement in PD is due to lack of completed case bcaz NVC and uscis worked slowly....now as per guideline, uscis is approving cases preety fast...so i think there is huge backlog...and so cutoff wont move to august 2010 so soon...

Nobody can predict VB But if we look at the previous months ,its moving with an average of 4 months...so If it has to get to August 2010 and it moves with the same speed,it should be there in March 2012 or April 2012 Visa bulletin...But Like I said one cannot predict it,and sometimes it slows down a bit,depends on the visa available and demand...All the best.
