Hey people...

I filled out and signed the I134 Affidavit of Support in May and my co-sponsor too. They were both signed but not notarized. We just signed them! Well, I see people writing about notary publics and stuff; I dont remember where but I read that the Affidavit didnt need to be notarized. Does it need to be notarized for Santo Domingo? Also worried because I have a different job now and the affidavit is too old then. At least my co sponsor still has the same job and he filed with tax copies, in his case it isnt a big deal but still he signed it in May. Is that going to be a problem? Bottom line is, Affidavits are from May and they are not notarized... I dont know if I should just go on with those or have new affidavits ready in hand. Perhaps I should just go to interview and hope they dont ask and if they do that they will give us a chance to get the new ones.

They dont require nor need a notary. Notaries verify signatures on documents & have nothing to do with content. You dont say when your interview is so its hard to say the docs are too old but probably not. Yours isnt correct it seems becuase you have a new job. It would be best to create a new one prior to the intervew. They may not be pleased that an invaild form was submitted. If it isnt done & they question it they will give you time to fill out a new one but will not issue the visa until its submitted & approved.
