Finally, I dont know if anyone has read my posts but I had a huge problem with my lawyer...

Well she FINALLY sent our package for the I-129F to Lewisville on and it was arrived and was signed on July 28!!

Happy that this step is moving forward. Can't wait to receive the info that is to follow.

Any tips or advice I would love to hear some.

Thanks VJ members.

My advice is be patient. There's a lot of waiting ahead and it can take its toll on you and your relationship. Good luck with your journey :)

It is only two days since the package sent. There are between 3-5 months wait to hear any thing from USCIS. So it needs a lot of patience. BE PATIENT

Good luck with the wait.

well with the lawyer we were using we thought the package was sent in may! its been 2 month since then, and a year since we started this process. I think I can handle a few more months waiting.

We r just in a little pickle on whether to get married and then file for him to come to the states, or just get the visa.

Wait you want to get married and then file?

Then you're looking at completely the wrong visa - a K1 is a fiancee's visa, meaning at the point of entry your fiancee has to say that he/she is legally free to be married, if you've already married them, they can't say yes when asked this question, and will get denied at the airport.

You have to get married in America.

Or you need to file for a spousal visa ...
