Slim, despite what you may delusionally believe, fighting to make your life better doesn't involve using a gun. This might explain your little "vacation" last year though. Furthermore, Gary is ignorant in declaring that they don't have guns in Somalia.

Yes, prior to my vacation I was fighting to make my life better. You got it!

If you'd read his post (I know, that's a stretch) he didn't say there were no guns. He said they weren't allowed to have them.

So if your country is ruled by warlords and repressive dictators...how do you go about making your life better? Come on explain it to us please.

Ask nicely?

How about not making every damn topic, no matter how serious it is, into some battle about who has the biggest ego here?

It's making me sick. Wherever you go on VJ, you guys are at it with each other, totally getting off topic and instead, into a pissing match.

I'm staying on topic. I asked the question of how tens of thousands of repressed people facing famine should handle warlords and dictators in their country. I'm guessing that's legit and on topic.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Slim, that distinction changes nothing. Fact of the matter is, Somalis are allowed to have guns, just not automatic rifles.

If it is making you sick, then don't read it, or better yet, block me.

What's easy to say? And what reality would be different?

Either you're happy with your life or you're fighting to make it better. Anything less is unexcusable.

Let's see you starving to death and then see how you are able to fight.

When you are sick, you don't have to fast during Ramadan, and I don't think that has anything to do with their situation, anyway. But, I don't want to have any more discussion with you, in particular, because for some reason it seems you just like to stab at people and I am not interested in your amusement. Also, I wasn't addressing your comment.

It has a lot to do with Ramadan. They were interviewing a ####### load of those starving peeps last week and everyone of them said they were going to respect Ramadan and continue fasting.

So seeing how it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that... Starving people who voluntarily fast = dead people.

Some people just can't be helped.

A number of personal attacks have been removed along with one post making inappropriate and intolerant religious/racist comments. Please stop it with the attacks and condemnation of other beliefs and cultures.

There was nothing racist about my post. It's a fact that those people are celebrating Ramadan and it's also a fact as to why they are dying off so fast last week.

Your simplistic thinking doesn't work for me.

They weren't starving to death all year because of Ramadan. Perhaps it made their suffering journey come to an end, that is all.

Simplistic ?

You tell me then...what happens to already starving people when they celebrate a religious holiday by fasting ? Answer that please.

Golden Gate is right; if they're starving, they shouldn't be fasting. But, if there's no food, they're fasting involuntarily anyway.

Apparently those people didnt read the same Quaran or something, because they are continuing to fast. And to say that because there is little food to begin with that celebrating that holiday is no big deal is a sell out imo. They won't even eat the food given them by organizations ..and yet they continue to fast, and they continue to die.

So what's the point of this argument if you can't help them? Explain that please.
