Ok my father is co sponsering for my husband. My father is a USC. The only problem is, his mother re married when my dad was real young... and somehow, not even going through the legal process, they starting using the step dads last name as my fathers and uncles last name? I dont know how. But for like school and stuff. So his drivers license social security #### say his step fathers last name, but his birth certficate says his REAL fathers last name, which was my dads given last name. I dont know how my grandmother managed to do all this back in the day with out the grandfather legally adopting my father and uncle. I know this is going to cause a problem for my co sponser since we have to provide proof of the co sponsers citizanship. I really am lost for words and dont know what to do....

does he have a US passport or can he get his passport?

it's birth certificate or passport to proof citizenship for USC born citizens.
