I am/was tempted to start a new name because I was brain washed back then..Watched a lot of Hannity and he is a talking point machine that has little regard for facts....Really didn't see the facts and light until this year or maybe it was last year?

Conservatives stand for low taxes for the rich which equals lower revenue for the government (fact)...At the same time they spend even more than Democrats (fact)...They don't believe in climate change (a fact) and many communicate with an invisible imaginary being on a daily basis (fiction)...They will speak with this imaginary being before dinner time, before they go to bed, etc (fiction).

They are not in touch with reality....

We've all been witnessing your transition over the past few years. It is good to come out of the shadows and into the light. Welcome.

Keep questioning, keep learning, keep reading. Take nothing at face value. Distrust extremists on all sides, head towards the center, towards rational empirical based, fact based explanations. Seek compromise and moderation in all things. These are good principles by which to lead your life.

We just traded away Greg Olson. I guess we figured we just don't need a receiving TE in the Mike Martz offense.

I'm just glad the NFL settled the lockout before the deadline. I wish our ninnies in Washington were half as good as the NFL & Players association were at negotiating.

Question for you: If tax increases/decreases are going to have an unknown mysterious to all effect on the economy/revenues/deficits then can you explain how the predictions are so freaking accurate only a blind Republican moron could find a way to dispute the facts??? Take a look at this report on the devastating impact of the Bush Tax Cuts on the economy...It's almost like they forewarned us of what would happen (FROM 2003):

http://www.ctj.org/pdf/binge03.pdf

Prediction from September 11, 2003:

New projections from the Congressional Budget Office indicate that continuation of

President Bush’s budget policies will triple the

national debt by the end of fiscal 2013. Left

unchecked, Bush’s reckless approach to fiscal policy

will saddle our children with an additional $10 trillion

in debt just ten years from now.

The effects of CBO’s more realistic predictions are

striking. By fiscal 2013, for example, the projected

annual deficit in the regular budget under Bush’s policies skyrockets to $1.1 trillion—

more than ten times bigger than the non-credible “baseline” estimate of $105 billion.

Compared to when Bush took office, the national debt, including amounts owed to

Social Security, is expected to more than triple by fiscal 2013, to $14 trillion. Bush’s

campaign promise that he would continue President Clinton’s policy of paying down

the debt turns out to have been a $10 trillion fib.

“Although the President constantly blames his fiscal profligacy on necessary increases

in defense and security spending, that’s hardly the case,” said Robert S. McIntyre,

director of Citizens for Tax Justice. “In the President’s first term, two-fifths of his $2.3

trillion in deficit spending is directly attributable to his tax cuts, with the lousy

economy responsible for most of the rest. Over the next four years, half of the $3.1

trillion in projected deficit spending reflects Bush’s tax cuts. Thereafter, tax reductions

explain three-fifths of the huge deficits we’ll face if Bush’s policies are left in place.”

Paul will tell you that this was either just a lucky guess or someone made changes retroactively to make the numbers work. It can't be based on sound assessments because Paul has already educated us that it is impossible to make any such predictions with any degree of certainty. It's all voo-doo.

No, Paul will tell you it's the SPENDING.

Revenues increased during the mid-years of Bush's presidency. The problem was SPENDING greatly increased.

If you don't increase spending, if you don't go into two useless wars, have the medicare part FAIL debacle, billions of dollars in excess pork, etc... then we'd have been doing just fine.

The voodoo part of this is the idiots, including ones on this board who want to blame 'cutting taxes' on a deficit. The ONLY way that you can have a deficit is as simple as Spooky even put it, is if you SPEND more money than you take in.

SPENDING. SPENDING. SPENDING. It's ALWAYS the spending.

A new study has determined that the amount you eat has absolutely no bearing upon your weight or your health. It is only about how you go about burning your calories that matters and not how many you consume.

The fact that Somalians look like this

and Americans look like this

fat-american.jpg

has nothing to do with our eating habits. Somalians obviously simply spend many more calories than Americans do. They have a spending problem and should radically cut their exercise, they really don't need more food intakes. Studies have shown it's only about the calories we SPEND not the ones we CONSUME.

This message brought to you by Grover Norquist and his allies.
