Hi everyone I have a suspicion that I have been red flagged for some reason, I received an RFE yesterday that was six pages long and wants amoung other things a letter from my parents that states they knew I was going to be married the last time I went to China. If I were 17 years old I could see getting a letter, but I am much older than, that. just wondering but I think it is so....thanks all

We're seeing more and more of these extensive RFEs. It's not clear whether they are random among cases that fit a profile or targeted. Just do the best you can to respond to each item. If something they ask for is not possible, simply explain why. Here's an earlier thread discussing the subject.

Interesting- we are getting more of these, and also more instances of petitioners being called to interview by USCIS. Are there any red flags in your case, such as recent divorce, having petitioned for a foreign spouse or fiance before, criminal background or other?

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Are you of Chinese origins? Maybe they think you are related...

My divorce was final last year, I suppose that could definately be the case, but to ask for the names and addresses of all my relatives is a bit odd. thank you for the insight

The Consulate used to require a G24 form listing all the relatives of petitioner and beneficiary but they stopped. It's not unusual. If you too are of Chinese Origins, that may have prompted things. It's hard to know WHY this happened without knowing your full story and case circumstances. It happens. Just deal with it the best you can. I doubt you'll find any alternative choice acceptable.

I could be wrong but is everyone seeing more RFE's for China only or more in general? Seems to me the pattern is more with China and I do think the US is having more issues with china than the media lets on. Just my opinion. Jim.

A more in-depth look seems to be the trend, take it with a grain of salt, give them what they want, smile and go on. Good Luck. You have a good support group at VJ.

This is the only extensive RFE I've seen reported in a China case. All the others are Middle East and North Africa cases. I would NOT attribute this RFE to any US/CHINA political issues.
