As we live in the sticks we have only one cable company available. We don't want satellite as during winter it would suck. It's currently being upgraded to fiber optic so at least it's speeding up but it's got nothing on Comcast speeds. We don't have "basic" channels but we're not premium either. We have lots of channels but we don't have ALL the channels. We're paying more than I think we should and now Netflix is changing their fee structure so we have to make a choice there as well.

oh the joys of small town......telephone company is co-op gotta have a phone to get internet or cable cost of cable and net per month $179.00 and thats with out long distance and wouldnt you know everything is long distance from us

:crying:

sara

$179? Holy mackerel! :o That's robbery! Have you looked into satellite? My brother works for the US Forest Service and is stationed out in the middle of nowhere, so the only option he has is satellite and I'm pretty sure he's paying considerably less than that. As for long distance phone calls - is there any cell phone service in your area?

We have the service we can afford, not the service we want. If we added expanded cable to our service, the bill would be about $40 more per month.

We have two providers in our area, but the other one has a filter on all services. So we don't use them.

Our journey together on this earth has come to an end.

I will see you one day again, my love.

Zero. Apartment Complex has wifi. Hubby goes to gym to workout while watching his football team. TV will only be used when I watched my movies(got from Goodwill) and 1 hr every week for my preferred TV show. Husband prefers using a kindle than watching TV. :)

I have the bundle package that features cable (w/HD, DVR, HBO, etc.), phone (unlimited domestic everything), and internet (not sure of speeds but it's pretty good) for around $140/month.

Some people say that's high, but I think it's a pretty good deal because I use all of those services pretty regularly. When I hear people talk about "I can't afford HBO and stuff" I laugh because typically those are the people who are either smokers or they stop at Starbucks every day on the way to work. Someone told me the other day they'd never upgrade from basic cable because it cost too much. I asked them what they were doing with that extra $40/month they were saving. They said, "Savings? What savings?"

We waste our extra money anyway. Might as well use it for what we want.

24.99 for a year - cable internet....I forgot the speed rating but when I tested it last it seemed to be able to +/- 1.9mb/s down and maybe 600k/s up

I killed tv about 8 months so we stream from netflix....(maybe 1.5 hrs a day?)
