When to send forms

I'm currently staying in the US as an F-1 student while working on OPT. I'm married to a US citizen, so we are trying to file I-130, I-485, I-765, and I-131. He lives in CA and I'm staying in TX because of work, but I'll move right after my OPT will expire mid August. We're almost ready to send out forms now, but we are trying to understand if it is better to file immediately then change my address to CA, or to wait until we have one address (CA) and file after OPT expiration. Is it OK to file during the grace period? Or is there an advantage to filing AOS (I-485) while the F-1 OPT is valid?

It is okay to file during the grace period. If you had filed earlier, you could have avoided a gap in the ability to work, but even if you applied today there would still be gap - your OPT expires in two weeks. So, there is no practical difference between now and filing in two weeks; I would wait the two weeks, personally. Good luck.

I'd wait too, mid August is two weeks away. Rather you two are living together when filing and not having to explain something later on

in case they question you about it. As Harpa mentioned, there will be a little gap no matter what, but this gap is no reason for a denial

of your whole AOS application, so don't worry about it.

So yeah, another vote for you to wait

Thanks so much! I think it will be better to wait to file forms as you guys said. It would make everything simple. I am a little more relieved. Thanks!!!
