Someone dying in their family or about to die and they need to leave the USA to go see them before they die.

Thats usually the only reason AP or AOS gets expedited.

EAD maybe for financial reasons but you need a lot of proof.

I've seen some members saying they got their AOS/EAD/AP cases expedited and I would like to know how to do that. What are the grounds to get your case expedited?

Military being deployed can ask for expedite of AOS. If you have an emergency that you need to travel out of the country for, you can ask for expedite of your AP. I believe if you have a firm job offer in writing, you can ask for the EAD to be expedited.

I guess my wife and I are the exception to the rule. We were expedited based on numerous issues:

1. AP - my father is ill in the UK, and whilst I didnt need to rush and go home, I wanted to have the document 'just in case' something happened.

2. EAD - my wife is on expensive drugs as she received a new kindey, my job helps pay for the medical needs.

3. AOS - this was expedited, I put the request in based on my wifes need, and some jobs require residency. I was told by USCIS over the phone expedites are not granted for AOS, but in my case it was granted, and I have an email showing it was expedited. Maybe they expedited this because the rest of my case moved fast.

Wait in line and be patient as everyone else is.
