Still no visa due to horrible Domesa service...

We had our interview on last week on July 19. The embassy documents state that the visa should be delivered within 4-6 business days on one document and 10 calendar days on another. Not to mention that we pay about $30 to Domesa for their horrible service after the visa approval. My novia has been calling since Wednesday, because we want to buy her tickets and get her here. They assured her that it would be in Friday or this morning on Saturday. Supposedly it was delivered to the Domesa office in Bogota on Wednesday, although I think it was there before that. Reasonably you would expect a package to get from Bogota to Medellin within a day. The lady informed her to call early this morning at 8am, because they open from 8-12 on Saturday. This is so she can go pick it up, and we can book our tickets. Guess what??? She has been calling since 8am, and no one is answering the phone.

Has anyone had Domesa take so long to deliver a passport?

12/27/2010 - Became engaged in Margaret River

01/20/2011 - Purchased ticket to visit her in Colombia

01/29/2011 - I-129F Sent

01/31/2011 - I-129F received and signed by USCIS

02/09/2011 - Check cleared bank

02/11/2011 - Received NOA1

02/14/2011 - Touched

02/17/2011 - Service Request response received

03/02/2011 - I-129F Approved

03/08/2011 - Received NOA2 approval letter

03/21/2011 - Case forwarded to Bogota

03/24/2011 - Received NVC letter. Sent email to Bogota Embassy.

03/25/2011 - Received response from embassy to download instruction package.

03/30/2011 - Emailed fiancee DS-230 & DS-2100 to embassy for interview.

03/31/2011 - Received confirmation of documents submitted to embassy.

05/10/2011 - Visa interview scheduled but later postponed by us.

07/19/2011 - Visa Approved

07/30/2011 - Visa picked up at Domesa office.

Someone finally answered the phone, and my fiancee's visa had indeed arrived. I was able to purchase her tickets and soon she will be here with me. Finally!!! After going through this time-consuming, brutal process, but in the end we feel a sense of accomplishment and excitement. Good luck to all others still waiting. It is totally worth it in the end!

October 28th, 2011: case transferred to California for faster processing
December 5th, 2011: received EAD/AP card
February 22nd, 2012: Green card in production
February 27th, 2012: GREEN CARD in hand, yaaay!!!




November 10th, 2013: ROC
