Should we both go through the US Citizen side or visitor side? She will be arriving on the k1 visa and I will be with her. I would like to enter with her through the US Citizen side, might be faster, whichever I will need to go with her. As I have read, I am able to go in either side and must accompany her. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

You can go on which ever line with her that you want. You should probably pick the USC line though because like you said it will be faster.

As is the standard response for this question each time it is posed (about once a week.)

Just ask the crowd control officer... he/she will direct you accordingly. Chances are you will both be directed to go to the USC/LPR line.

I don't think your fiance is a US citizen yet. If so, she should not go to the line that's reserved for US citizens, unless directed so by a CBP officer on duty. You rather want to err on the safe side, than having to deal with that one CBP officer among a hundred or thousand who takes this as a false claim of US citizenship on her side.

I've never used a line reserved for US citizens, not even as a Green Card holder traveling with my US citizen wife, until I became a US citizen myself. Funny enough, at the U.S. Virgin Island the visitors line was much faster than the US citizens line.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . This is incorrect i have flown through Miami many times 6 times in the last year and there is a line specifically for U.S citizens. But i dont think it will be a big deal to take her through that line, you can always say you didnt know you can use the visitor line and didnt want to separate from your fiancee!

There are different signs at different airports. She should use the line that says visitors. She is not a USC and she is not a resident yet, so she shouldn't use the line reserved for them, unless directed so by CBP officer.

I went to pick up my my then fiancée and returned with her. I am the USC and she was the K1. Our POE was New York.I asked the woman directing the lines if she could go with me though the USC line. Yes. And no problems.This is really not a big deal

I just got through the airport 3 weeks back and the officer told me to go thru the USC queue as I was on an immigrant visa. POE Chicago.

I got my GC based on an F2B which later converted to an F2A. It took close to 10yrs during which I tried applying for the DV unsuccessfully. My GF who is a first time applicant got selected for DV2015! We're keeping our fingers crossed.

We arrived at Miami International and were both directed to go to the United States Citizen line, after I asked the agent where we should go. We arrived August 21st, 2011. It was easy and fast, only international arrival at that time. Thanks for all the posts! Good Luck to all.
