Hello, first of all thank you for reading my post. Back in February, my wife and I filed a i130 to have her come here from Mexico. We decided to get an immigration lawyer....i know i know they're a pain and completely unnecessary but i'm a really busy guy so the idea of having them take care of all the little worries for me sounded nice. Anyway....our case got transferred to the NVC and i made the payments needed for both me and her. The lawyers said that the next step was to get together a bunch of things like each other's birth certificate, marriage certificate, my taxes, copy of her passport etc. They also emailed her a questionnaire that they needed her to answer so that they could make a certain document that they would email for her to sign and return in the mail along with the other things. Basically....we have been waiting for almost three weeks for the lawyers to email her that document to print out and sign. My question is......does this document that she needs to sign take a long time to get or are the lawyers just dragging their feet? I didn't know if they needed to go through the NVC first with that questionnaire or if they have what we need right in front of them and are just being lazy? Seriously you guys....i apologize a million times if this doesn't make sense. I know my terminology is way off.....I'm just very new to these kind of things so i hope someone at least knows what i'm talking about.

Thanks

Unfortunately it makes sense, and now you know why we don't recommend lawyers for simple cases--they almost always make it longer with less feedback than if you had done it yourself. Your lawyer isn't lazy--just busy and you have to wait your turn in HIS queue.

It will be fine--not much you can do except call to complain, and that might move you up in his queue, but probably not.
