'Just a little confused about the bar code thing. I have read NVC Electronic Processing wiki and some others. Bar codes are NOT needed? Another question: I got my NOA2 on the 20th. 'Been calling the AVR. I'm getting concerned with the process. I have read were some have waited a month or more. But I have read that you need to be proactive with NVC. Less sitting and waiting. So do I need to get a hold of a human operator?

You have to send the bar-coded cover sheets regardless if you're doing EP or not.

Currently, there's a backlog at NVC where it's taking an usually long time to assigning case numbers. Despite this, you should still be calling an operator at least once a day and asking if a case number has been assigned as the AVR is usually a few days behind in updating.

forms / barcode -

DS-3032 submittal - not need the barcoded version, use the one in the d/l link in the wiki

DS-230 submittal - after the payment has been marked as 'paid' in the online payment portal - you will be able to download the barcoded coversheet - include it in the IV submission

I-864 submittal - after the payment has been marked as 'paid' in the online payment portal - you will be able to download the barcoded coversheet - include it in the AOS submission

My apologies - is a bit outdated - but the basic structure is sound..

I'll try to do a massive edit this weekend - the OPT IN process has not changed, at all.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
