The Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY looks like a kewl place. Never got the time to stop but it looks kewl. They used to do tours of Kellogg's in Battle Creek but the don't anymore. The Olds Museum in Lansing is another place that comes to mind. The Air Zoo in Kalamazoo looks kinda neat. Those are the ones that come to mind. Lots of other crazy and not so crazy places can be found on this website: If you have time on your hands, even if you forget to wear your watch

I went there the same time I picked up my car from the factory. It was cool but Bowling Green is a bit out of the way if they're driving along I-64. I don't think it's good enough to go that far out of the way.

Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.

They can take a goat path to Branson from Bowling Green, but they want to get off the interstate to see Americana.

Thanks. My Grandma was eccentric but taught me a lot.star_smile.gif

Should pretty much see Knight trucks anywhere and even Canada. I have to take my passport when I am on the road just in case. Maybe it was Nagi that tuned me in to my company. I had a sign that I placed I would hold up sometimes that said, 'Show me your ****'

In my defense on the other said of the sign it said, 'Thanks'. I am a gentleman after all.whistling.gifThe company asked me not to do it anymore and was counseled on how we have to make sure we present a professional image.blink.gif

Show me your headlights, what's wrong with that? Daytime running lights help when there's poor visibility. The company was right, exposing your breasts is not appropriate. tongue.gif I don't think Nagi would complain about your breasts. laughing.gif

I have two t-bone steaks ready to grill on the barbie, along with some red peppers, sweet onions and tomatoes fresh from the garden!

Checking out Chicago, and the Museum of Science and Industry has made the list if we take that route. The museum boasts a German U-boat that you can walk through, and several gory exhibits including cow eye dissection to keep my son happy!

The Field Museum always fascinated me as a kid and I hope that you enjoyed your dinner, it sounded terribly yummy.

Frank Lloyd Wright Buildings and other Road Trips

Sorry, other Frank Lloyd Wright link is broken, but you can find the info here.

Thanks for the link with all the addresses! I love Frank Lloyd Wright, and hadn't even thought of it when considering a route. If we head anywhere near Chicago, I'll be sure to see Oak Park and as many home tours as I can.

The more interesting places I see, the more road trips for future days I see planning!

I have to admit to not knowing that the Ford Museum had nothing to do with cars. I was thinking to myself, "I thought it was Henry Ford..." Big facepalm when I looked it up!

I heard the Ford Museum in Detroit, which is about cars, is cool, but I figured that you wanted to avoid Detroit.

Ann Arbor is also a great town to visit - The University of Michigan - The best subs are at Pizza Bobs on State at Packard. Oh my God, I am craving one now. It is the sauce!! Also Zingerman's Delicatessan is wonderful there.

When I move to the US, we will be driving from Ontario to Missouri. We can cross at Niagra Falls/Buffalo, or at Sarnia/Upper Michigan, or at Windsor/Detroit. I don't relish crossing through Detroit, unless you change my mind.

We DO plan on going to Niagra Falls before the crossing, but don't mind the long drive over to Sarnia if it's worth it for something we can't miss. Driving through Michigan or through New York, there's gotta be things along the way to see that we won't want to miss!

The route takes us either through Western New York or Michigan, through OHIO (yay, great music!) through Indiana, Illinois and then Missouri. There's a lot of cities along the way that I've heard of, but don't know what's special about them at all. We plan to take a few days driving, and I'm hoping some of you Americans (see, I didn't say Yanks!!!) can point out some great things along the way, or not far out of the way..

you can use google maps and the postal code N2J 2G9 and the american equivalent 65616 for directions. Just drag the top line over to niagra falls to see the different route options.

I know little about the interior US, sorry.. There's gotta be cool stuff about it though, right? Big ball of string, giant nickel, moose, anything? (or do they just do that weird stuff here?)

We travel between Chicago-Waterloo ON several times per year, now that my son is studying there.

We usually do Detroit/Ambassador Bridge rather than Port Huron/Sarnia. I've never had long lineups at the Ambassador but twice at Sarnia we've had big delays. The most recent was on Memorial Day this year coming from Can->US, we were idling on the Sarnia bridge for about 2 hours.

If you come via Chicago, drop me a PM. I can give you some pointers of stuff to do here in town.

Just a quick congrats!   Blue Water seems to have big delay much of the time. Scandal, do you know the name of that fudge place off Michigan Ave.? Buckingham Fountain is always nice, especially at night.
