Somehow Weird Al's song brings to mind:

That would be WAAAY out of her way to go to Whitefish Bay.

The Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY looks like a kewl place. Never got the time to stop but it looks kewl. They used to do tours of Kellogg's in Battle Creek but the don't anymore. The Olds Museum in Lansing is another place that comes to mind. The Air Zoo in Kalamazoo looks kinda neat. Those are the ones that come to mind. Lots of other crazy and not so crazy places can be found on this website: If you have time on your hands, even if you forget to wear your watch

Seen the museum and it is cool but I like old cars and to see them in mint condition but is only worth an hour and it is way out of the way for her to go to on her routing.

I never got a chance, the bus passed through there and it looked like it was good for a cursory perusal (I'm not a 'Vette guy) but I still haven't figured out what route she's taking or her POE.

Any POE and her destination will mean she has to go through St. Louis if she stays on interstates. The Vette museum is in southern Kentucky and way south of any routing. I do know about every road in the country and any routing as I travel extensively for my job but seldom go and do touristy stuff.

Forgot to add though that if any likes caves then on the way south to the Vetts museum is one of the most famous caverns in the country

I thought that she was going the very scenic route (i.e avoiding interstates taking backroads, goat paths, etc.) but I humble myself before your driving knowledge. You were just roaming around there, weren't you? I wasn't much of a tourist, myself. St. Louis by-pass into Illinois and so on. I was trying to make up time, I wasn't taking in the ambiance just had to get somewhere. I did mention Mammoth Cave in a previous post but I guess they didn't like that.

Yes I go by the Vette museum often as any over the road truck driver will. The last time out I was all over the southwest part of the country though and when I leave tomorrow to work again I am getting a load and heading to Albuquerque. I didn't see the mention of Mammoth cave before apologize. Usually I am trying to get somewhere and make time myself.

Forgot to add before. When you see the gateway arch in St. Louis that I was there for a family vacation when it was being built. We stayed at our grandparents place there as my grandfather was one of the people helping build it. As a kid it was awe inspiring to see it then. I loved it there. Seeing the river and so much more.

I-10 (Las Cruces is especially pungent at this time of the year) or I-40 (why does the highway McDonald's close at 11 in Amarillo)? Kewl story about the Gateway Arch but you are much too young to have been around when they built it. Don't worry about apologies, I'll just crank up the Dave Dudley and Red Sovine. By any chance is the name of your rig Phantom 309?:P

Yeah just delivered to a place in Las Cruces this last week and it was fun. Have no idea why they closed but it may be due to past their bedtimes.

Yes and then after we returned home the next year the Grandparents moved to Houston next to us so Grandpa could help build the Astrodome. Loved to go with Grandma totake him his lunch sometimes and see them building that.

No I drive a red truck and if you see a red truck from a company named Knight then go say howdy to that driver. You will have about a one in 3 thousand chance it will be me.

And ladies please remember. Truck drivers become very happy and docile when we get a flash.kicking.gif

Great story about your Grandparents.

I've seen more than my fair share of Knight rigs in my day, usually approaching SLC or somewhere on the I-80 or the I-15. I assume that you are reminding the ladies to always use turn signals and be considerate of distance when changing lanes. If you happen to leer at a sweet thing and she gives you a death stare, then you've met Nagi and you'll understand what the word capon means soon enough. :help: :help: :help:

BTW, Jake Braking is not allowed on VJ.:P

The Air Zoo, and the Corvette Museum both look fantastic, my son would love them! I didn't realize the Gateway Arch was in St Louis. I've seen it on television plenty of times, never knew where it was, so will definitely make sure we go that way on the drive. And yes, we do plan to take a rather more scenic route.

I'm still looking at the Sarnia entry over the Rainbow Bridge. We can always hit Niagara on a visit north in the future, it's not a stop and go kind of place really, and I've never crossed at Sarnia. The route takes us right through Kalamazoo, and then over to Chicago, which again, is not a one day kind of place either, but sure to have something cool to stop at and get us wanting to go back for another future visit.

I'm interested in anything of historical or architectural interest, as well as any of nature's wonders. Any fun, offbeat sights, just not anything religious, or country and western, lol! The caves sound great, but we'll likely do them on another tour.

I've already added a lot of places from the Roadside Guide, you can definitely waste a lot of time on there. I'm currently ripping all my dvds to avi files, so computer's on anyway, but wow... it's dinner time almost!

I have two t-bone steaks ready to grill on the barbie, along with some red peppers, sweet onions and tomatoes fresh from the garden!

Checking out Chicago, and the Museum of Science and Industry has made the list if we take that route. The museum boasts a German U-boat that you can walk through, and several gory exhibits including cow eye dissection to keep my son happy!

Thanks. My Grandma was eccentric but taught me a lot.star_smile.gif

Should pretty much see Knight trucks anywhere and even Canada. I have to take my passport when I am on the road just in case. Maybe it was Nagi that tuned me in to my company. I had a sign that I placed I would hold up sometimes that said, 'Show me your ****'

In my defense on the other said of the sign it said, 'Thanks'. I am a gentleman after all.whistling.gif The company asked me not to do it anymore and was counseled on how we have to make sure we present a professional image.blink.gif

St. Louis used to have a world class zoo. I remember seeing it when I was a kid and it may have been the best I ever saw. Your kid may love that.
