I received my interview letter today (4 months from receipt date) and I need some help with the request for 'proof of marital union' (I'm a 3 yr applicant). I have life insurance, car insurance, & county property tax records in both our names, but we have no joint bank accounts, utility bills, mortgage (condo is owned outright) or kids yet. I have our tax transcripts showing married & marriage certificate, but should I bring other items with both names like international airline itineraries or copies of both drivers licenses showing same address?

Appreciate any advice the forum can offer - thanks!

Bring as much proof as you can. There can never be too much:) Basically, bring the same papers you submitted with your application plus whatever you can come up on top of that. Maybe some of the same stuff - updated.

These are the very same thing I had with me, except for airline itineraries... Funny thing is, my IO didn't even ask for anything. She just went through on what I had with the N-400. Goodluck on your interview!

Don't worry if you don't have any joint accounts as long as you can submit separate account statements sharing the same address to prove you live together. You can also ask friends and/or family to write affidavits, send recent pictures of you together and with friends and family.
