Virus attack to the email account after sending email to the NVC

Hi everyone! Just want to ask if other people had the same problem my fiance is experiencing. Well, he just sent an email to the NVC( NVCINQUIRY@state.gov ) to check our K1 status , if we already had been assigned of a MNL #. However, after sending an email to them his email address / email had been sending this email with link thing which he think was a virus knowing that he had not been sending his contact including me such emails. And also, he go 2 auto response from NVC. What do you think of this??? Anyone has an idea on how to stop this virus in the inbox from sending emails to contact?

I had something similar but luckily nothing sent to nvc or any other government emails. Change passwords on the email account immediately and make it difficult, not an easy password to break into. Hopefully that works.
