Despite what that operator told you and despite what it is said on the NOA2, no file ever skips the NVC, for it is the NVC that assigns a case number and it is the NVC that forwards files to the appropriate Embassy or Consulate (files are never sent directly to an Embassy or Consulate from USCIS). However, since the NVC is only a mail stop for K1 files, I can only speculate that NVC operators have little to no information about them and just tell people that it has been forwarded on.

Congratulations.

These days, for some reasons USCIS are writing this notice on the approval notice. The petition makes a stop at the NVC to get the case # before getting to the embassy. I think you can check with the NVC later on.

Good luck

My petition said the same thing and we received our NOA2 July 7th...and still waiting...so i call even today and they still don't have it...

Hmmm we called them several times and even a visa specialist on DOS and MOST of operators told us the same, that to SOME countries now the rule changed and the petition is forwarded to the consulate and they don't touch it at all. That some countries still needs to go through NVC, but some doesn't and it is a new rule, so people on the consulate and some operators aren't aware of it.

If it's BS or what, idk.. I'm just waiting to hear from whoever is with my petition, either NVC or the consulate (hopefully) ... as long as I can have my interview date, whoever is touching my petition should hurry up lol Good luck though.

My NOA2 said the same thing. I called NVC several times and they told me to contact the consulate. I emailed the consulate and was told that all NOA2 have to go thru NVC in order to get a case number. I received my NOA2 on July 18.

Yea, either way we have to wait. You'll hear from one of them, but I'd keep calling NVC/DOS.. but that's because I can't stand now being in the dark. :P (also emailing the consulate).. at some point, we'll hear something! Good luck :)
