My wife was approved for the travel document but we didn't receive to piece of mail that was supposed to be mailed to us according to the online site. Is there some kind of document that USCIS mails to you that you have to take when you travel, or are you just automatically good to go as far as leaving the country and coming back? Also, what is the best phone number to speak with someone about this situation. My wife wants to travel home next week but I obviously want to make sure everything is square before she goes. Thanks for any help!

Yes - they send you travel documents - which you will need to re-enter the US. I would not leave unless they are in hand.

If you haven't received them - then you would need to contact your local USCIS and make an INFOPASS appointment - they will help you (usually by stamping the passport to allow travel in liu of the AP)

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

Are you sure you didn't get a combo EAD/AP card? If you got an EAD card, look for a notation that says "serves as Advance Parole" on it.

OK so I'm an idiot, it got approved 2 weeks ago and I just realized it takes up to 30 days to get the document. Has anyone with experience with this received the document in less than 30 days, or over 30 days? Thanks

It is usually the combo card now so this is normally what's confusing to new people.
