Hi... I am new here... hopefully I can hear from you.

My husband applied for his naturalization and in JUne 27, 2011 he had his interview. The interview went well and he was approaved on the tests. The only question that she had was about his last marriage (the one he got his GC). She asked why it ended so close to the date of getting his 10 years GC. He answered that their marriage wasnt working out for months, going back and forth... he wanted to have a family and she was ready for party. So after several frustration he decided to end it up ( they applied for the divorce in june of 2008 and got the certificate in october. In december we got married - I am a student visa holder) At the end of the interview the lady said she needed more time to review few documents about his dui he got back in 2006 and said he would expect on letter in 2 days or so.

The letter got here in 3 days saying that it was a request for inicial evidence and the document requested was his divorce certificate. He sent it on the next day (july 1st) and after a month we never heard anything from them. I was expecting at least one letter saying that they got his letter and the proccess is open again for review.

What do you think about this situation? Should he try to contact them? PLEASE, WE NEED AN ADVICE!

At this point in time, there's really nothing you can do especially since you already submitted the requested docs. Some offices are pretty slow -- just look at those who filed before your husband and still waiting for oath ceremony. You can probably call just to see if they received the docs, but other than that they won't tell you more than what they have online (case status updates). Goodluck!

Well I have another question to topic starter:

If he did get his first GC through marriage to citizen and then divorced, didn't he stated in N-400 that he's divorced and he was supposed to send copy of divorce decree/certified copy along with the application? And on interview day obviously he should have brought originals.
