Hello Vjrs,

my petition for the fiancée visa got approved last week and in 4 weeks I was planning on going to the US to visit my fiancé for two weeks. (I booked the flight before the petition got approved, because i thought it'll take longer to get the NOA2). Now my question is, am I still be able to travel to the US eventhough I already have NOA2? Or will they send me straight back to Switzerland again??

Thanks for the responses :D

No but you need to be home to get all your papers in order and packet 3 and interview. Stay home as you will be here soon enough for good.

DC,

many people successfully got into the US while their petition was being processed..some while waiting for NOA2 and others with their petition approved already. CBP are not wild dogs ready to bite for fun..they're not interested in shipping back people that are honest about their reasons for their trip as far as they're not immigrating in that trip without the correct papers. Bring with you a copy of NOA2,your return ticket, your ESTA and just in case something that proves you need to go back to Switzerland. This will show them that at least you're doing things in the legal way. Simply be honest when they ask you questions, you're doing nothing wrong, only visiting your fiancè. IT's true some people even from VWP countries have been shipped back in few occasions..and some deserved it since instead of saying they were visiting their bf/gf stupidly said that they were there to see a friend. CBP officers are not stupid..good luck with everything!
