I was interviewd for a diversity visa in april. At the conclusion of my interview my case was put in AP for what the consular officer referred to 'I don't know how country X marriage certificate looks like so I have to confirm.' On this basis my assumption for AP was for document verification. Reason being that I lived and got married(civil) in country X but I was now doing the interview in my home country. The CO asked me why I decided to marry my wife in country X and not my country. When I left for country X me and my now wife were just boyfriend/girlfriend for 5 years(1999-2004). We kept contact and I invited her to coutry X after 2 years(2006). We wedded 3 months after her arrival in country X and have lived together since(2006-2011). The Co asked if we have a child answerd NO, Asked for any photos and we provided several for the actual civil wedding ceremony. The C0 retained our marriage certificate and returned our passports.Country X issues duplicate copy of original marriage register as prima facie evidence of a civil marriage. This was casually noted and lightly asked by the preinterview document receiving staff. Its now 115+ days and still in AP. (221g pending administrative process). No more document or info requested.

By experience country X has central and straightforward civil documentation and registration procedures.. hence my failure to understand the delay in the process.

I periodically e-mail the embassy and they normally reply promptly but with the same sickening phrases- under/pending/undegoing AP.

What can possibly explain the delay? Any possibility I am in AP for different reason from what was verbally communicated to me? Without prejudice I'm christian and have not visited any 'US unfriendly'' country. All my documents are 100 % aunthetic.

Please help me with your opinions and perspectives!

To be totally upfront with you...I have zero experience with the DV process.

I just wanted to metion as a point of reference that the NVC couldn't authenticate my marriage certificate either....and I was married in Texas! It took them three weeks to sort it out....somehow with no further doumentation required from us....it was just a case of one day our marriage certificate was 'unacceptable', the next day it was 'acceptable'. I have read about one other person who had an issue with the authenticity of their marriage certificate at interview...until the CO took it to another staff member who had actually seen one like it and confirmed it was in fact authentic.

Like I said...I don't have DV experience, so I hope someone will be able to give you some better advice. Just thought it might be worth mentioning that sometimes the NVC/embassies do have trouble with documents for whatever reason.

I wish you the best of luck and hope that things are sorted out soon.
