I am here in Canada studying full-time on a study visa. I got married to my beloved wife on the 23rd of June, 2006 here in Canada. We filed I-130 and I-129F very recently as you can see from my timeline. I also have an H-1b approval from my employer in US which was issued on July 17, 2006 and was filed before my marriage. I have scheduled an H-1b interview in Ottawa Embassy on the 31st of October. I am looking for someone who is from Pakistan originally and had gone through an interview for H-1b from Canada. Do they put you on security or background check for months or years. I have heard that sometimes it takes years. If yes, then I don't want to put myself into that position and just wait for my K-3 or CR-1 to be processed. One more issue is that my visa is going to expire in March, 2007 and you have to give interview in the country that you were married in and thats another problem.

Anyone out there that can help me?

07/19/11 N-400 Received

08/23/11 Case status changed - FP letter sent

08/26/11 Fingerprint notice received in mail

08/26/11 Early Fingerprints completed

09/13/11 Original Fingerprints scheduled date

08/30/11 Case status updated: In-Line to be scheduled for an interview

09/12/11 Case status updated: Interview is now scheduled

09/15/11 Interview letter received!

10/19/11 Interview at Santa Ana, CA - I-130 is not approved in file

10/19/11 RFE issued

10/27/11 RFE response received and is being reviewed - even though I didn't get any RFE or responded to one!

11/11/11 Notification for Placed in que for oath ceremony

11/15/11 Notification for Oath being scheduled

11/18/11 N-445 Oath letter received

12/15/11 Oath Ceremony - Its all over! I AM FINALLY A US CITIZEN!
