Hi,

First of all I came last year having a J-1 Visa (valid until September 2011) for an internship. I got recently my EAD. What kind of status do I have now? Still a J-1?

Also, does this give me the right to change my employer? or am I still tied to my J-1 intership until the end of the J-1 Visa?

Thanks in advance!

Best Regards,

Jan

Oh, all right, I see now. Disregard what I said previously; I didn't know you were applying for AOS. Your status is now "AOS pending" so you can abandon your J-1 visa and your sponsor. However, are you sure that you are not subject to the 2-year Home Residency Requirement?

Yes, it is written on my visa that it does not apply :)

I should have provided more details about my AOS. Thanks for answering my doubts. I am really grateful.
