Hi fellow VJ's,

we had our interview 11am today in Atlanta, Georgia.we came and check-in at 10am and told us to wait and check in again at 10:30am. went to the 3rd floor and waited maybe 15-20 mins before they called our number. the interviewer was young i think.in her 30's. first, she let as made an oath to tell the truth. asked our ID's. i gave her my dependent Military ID and my husband's military ID.she asked my husband DL and asked mine too but i told her in Alabama, they didn't let me get a DL until i have proven for GC so she was a bit surprised. compared to other state, as long as you show your EAD and SSN, they will allow you.then photocopied our ID's.she also asked our Marriage cert which i put it in a folder with our birth certs and gave it to her.

questions mostly about our relationships and how did we maintain our long distance relationships. I came here on B2 visa in 2003, then April 2008 which i met my husband on May 28, 2008 in Enterprise, Alabama,Public Library. i went back to the Philippines and he visited me 3x to the Philippines. I came back again to the states in Sept. 2010. POE NY and hubby visited me again. went to Alabama to visit him and my relatives and thats how we talked and decided to get married.we got married on Feb 15, 2011. she asked when did my hubby visited me and when we decided to get married.in my mind, she was looking if we have the plan of marriage before coming here. she's looking for pre-conceived intent.she was writing down all our answers in red ink pen.she asked if i have a SSN and i said, i have the paper but doesn't have the card yet. she took it and write down something. she asked questions from I-485.she asked what evidences do we have to show. i pulled out our folders and gave health and life insurances, joint bank statements, lease contract, mails with both our names, wedding reception invitation, cards from the wedding and mails we sent from each other before when i was in the Philippines. she just made a copy of joint bank statements, lease contract and our health and life insurances. she also asked me, why i still have the mails we sent from each other from the Philippines and she said, "was it for memories?" and i just said yes.she asked my hubby how did he included me in his life and health insurances and he just said you can include your spouse even without ssn. we just want to the military office. and she said " Thank you for that answer." because she said, she interviewed before someone from the military and they cant include her spouse to the insurance and she didnt believe it because she knows they can include it.she also asked, how did we able to get a joint bank account.my hubby said,we just went to the bank and as long as you have your passport, they will allow you and whenever you have a SSN, just update it.she asked our address and DOB. whats my hubby's work and he said, national guard and a full time Gov. employee ( aircraft mechanic).

she was looking again her paperworks and mentioned that pending ssn and my hubby told her, we have already the number but were still waiting for the card.so she took again my paper and wrote down the SSN number.

she asked us if we have questions, my hubby asked about the DL and they just had conversations about it and i asked her if is she going to stamp my passport and she said, they dont do that anymore since the card usually comes fast in mail. i even asked her if i'm already approve and she said, she needs to have some security check first for me this afternoon. and i can just check it online or so.she even discussed me abour ROC. that whenever we received the card, there will be an expiration and its my responsibity to check it.and we have to collect again evidences whenever we apply for ROC later on.thats about it. she said thank you and we said thank you also.

we left the office hanging because we dont have exactly the answer if we are approve or not.i guess, interview was done like 20-30mins.it was like more of conversations. drove back to Alabama since we stayed in Atlanta for 1 night. i go straight to the internet and checked the USCIS website. it says on I-485 card/document production but the I-130 still initial review.

does anyone know what does that mean? anyone who have the same experience?

Hi karah!Congrats! You were approved. If the I-485 is approved that means your I-130 is approved too..but in my case, the IO approved the I-130 but I-485 is pending. Still no changes on my online status. Happy for you! The waiting for me is getting agonizing.Sigh!

Hi prep.mac,

in your USCIS account, does your I-130 already update that it has been approved? why mine if it says the I-485 updated to card production but the I-130 still intial review? anyway, have you called them already? in my situation, the interviewer was focusing more of the pre-conceived intent of marriage.she even asked us when did we decided to get married.

oh yeah, she even took all our copies of my husband iterinaries when he went to the Philippines.and photocopied passport of my hubby with all his travels.

Hi prep.mac,

sometimes i woudn't still believe it until GC is in my hand.

what are your plans of doing?have you called the USCIS? don't lose hope since youe I-130 has been approved.it maybe just waiting time again for your I-485. plus, they never said you are denied. God bless!

The same happen to me, The I-30 was still showing initial review, but I would not worry about it. Because you or your sponsor will get something in the mail in the next few days that the I-30 has been approve. And within 10 days you will get your green card. At least that is what happen to me. Congratulations, don't worry about it to much.

I try not to worry too much but it's at the top of my mind everyday!Stress!Got travel plans you know.

Hi jj!

The I-130 she approved during the interview but the I-485 she did not...she asked for that approval letter from the INS from 10 years ago when I applied for an extension...it should be on their file! But if our stories are most similar, I sure pray to God I'd hear from them soon as we have a lot of plans which are kinda put on hold for now with this situation.

Thanks!

Hi Karah,

I just checked my case status on USCIS website and it says they ordered my card production again TODAY. I googlged and many people had the same situation. It's kinda weird. My I-130 still initial review... Can't wait to actually have the GC in hand!

Keep me posted with yours

we were approved on 26 July for AOS. Today, 29 Jul, I received mail notification that our I-130 has also been approved.

So, hang in there..you will also get it in the next few days.

Checked USCIS website and the same...I-130 still under "initial review".

I figured it was a done deal when at the end of the interview, the IO removed the I-94 and stated "you won't be needing this anymore" B-)

No worries. My husband's interview was in Atlanta (28 June 2011). You were approved. My husband received the actual green card in ten days. The IO gave us an approval letter, but I have heard of others that have not. I guess it depends on what type of mood the IO is in.
