Yes, you can. Have someone watch your mailbox and able to contact you, but it's not going to happen any time soon. Once the I-130 is approved it goes to storage until your PD is close to being current (another 2 yrs according to current bulletin).

ok.. that's good then.. I can leave the country... ill just change my address to by family's address and they can keep me updated..

Also, at the rate the PD is moving..it should be around 4-6 months for it to be current.. 2009 is going to go faster...

I think you should wait a bit because there are persons who filed their I130 Petition, it has been approved and their case at NVC is completed also who filed in 2011, so i think you should wait till about October, November before travelling or wait until your case is completed and only waiting for your priority date to become current.

Yes, the only thing is - he WILL NOT get a case number until the PD is current. You linked a CR-IR-1 case and for them they have the case numbers available immediately (spouse of a USC). You really should stop equating CR-IR1 visa process and F2A as they are NOT the same. F2A will have a longer wait time for the visa number to become available.

OMG, dude, seems that u didn't follow new progress of NVC. they currently start to process case number of F2A petition, asking them to pay this and that even though visa number is not available yet. lots of people who has PD on Dec 2011 or even jan-march 2011 right now receive their case number and start to sent forms that NVC requested. after all case completed theeennn... F2a case will keep in storage until PD becomes current and if PD become current NVC will schedule your interview.

the reason why i quote the link is because f2a4spouse is now should be in NVC process. and that link explain alot about NVC process. im a F2a spouse who has lot of time for researching, im newbie here, but i read lots of information to educate my self about this whole painful process. i see that f2a4spouse already join into http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/285076-december-2010-filers/page__st__360 --> this is the rightt place to ask i guess. lots of knowledgeable people over there who can help you. i hope you will find your answer better than here.

forgot to put the question for the answer above..its

"Liz Mat

hello sir,, sorry ffor this big story. i was asked to pay the AOS and iv fee and submit thr needed documents, my PD is jst nov 2010 for my f2a visa, its no where near the current pd of aug 2007. and when I called the nvc rep says that theres no waiting for me,,, jst keep sedning the needed documents wen asked. what im confused is if the case will be completed and kept at the NVC and then wait for pd to be current? or will i get a consulate interview as soon as case completed in NVC ? "

"Here is an update. I just got off the phone with the NVC because I had a client with the same situation. Their new policy for F2A cases is to send the fee bill and start the application process after the I-130 is approved. This is because the F2A category is very "volotile" (their word) and it is possible that there may be a big jump in the F2A numbers without much warning. So they want to get their F2A cases ready in case that happens. They will not be scheduling interviews until a visa becomes available, but they are taking the fees and applications so that they can schedule interviews as soon as visas become available."

Ricardo - Thanks! , yup F2A here with a priority date of Jan 2011...I-130 approved and case at NVC..with case number assigned.

Didn't I tell you so. I am a f2a, and i know what's going on, that's the reason why I i told you to wait until your case has been completed by NVC and only waiting for your priority date to become current before you can travel.
