Hello all,

I have read this and several other forums and i understand that there will be DS3032 form that I will need to fill out and send and it takes approx 18 Business days from the time you get approval from USCIS.

I am an LPR and sponsered my spouse in F2A category. Just got approved from USCIS for I-130, they said they were going to send it to NVC and I should wait.

My dilemma is, i need to go back and see my spouse who I havent seen since our marriage exactly one year ago.. I intend on staying there a few months. Can I fill out my paperwork from there or do I have to be in the US. If I do how long will the process take for getting case number, then fee bill then me sending them docs etc...?????

your sincere inputs will be appreciated.

thanks

if the I-130 is just approved, then you still have enough time. nvc is not going to send you anything till the visa number become available for you. you can go and see your spouse without worrying about nvc processing.

NO! that is not correct. The NVC will not wait until the priority date is current to start proceesing the case. read this thread. hopes its help.

thanks for ur input, however I dont think thats corrrect. From what I have read, I should be getting an approval notice from the nvc, then I at some point I will get AOS fee bill , then something else.. these steps are a lil confusing.

thanks for ur inputn4th41y4.. I think u r right..Once NVC "touches" my case they will assign a case number and send me a notice. Then im not sure how long I have to wait before I get fee bill and then the other documnets?? I was wondering if I could leave in the meantime?

when is ur PD? did u sent G-1145 form along with your petition? if yess, u will get all the notification from NVC. so, even u r away from US, u still receive the notification.

the longer u reply all their request the slower your case will be complete. so, its depends on you.

but i think, if ur PD still recently, ur wait time still loong loong way to go.. dont worry..

i think u should start to join in other threads, to ask for more help of your cases, im still newbie too :) still learning about this all process, keep reading, keep researching, theres RICARDO4EVA2 , JimVaPhuong, ADMIRE, PD is Current who's more expert and knowledgeable.

WHAT is your PD date? The date you submitted the I-130 - it should say on NOA1.

Nov 2010?

Well then, sit back and relax - according to the visa bulletin, you have some wait time. They're currently processing petitions filed on or before 22JUL08. It will be a while.

Also, don't forget to keep checking the monthly visa bulletin for visa number progression: http://travel.state.gov/visa/bulletin/bulletin_1360.html

Yes, you can. Have someone watch your mailbox and able to contact you, but it's not going to happen any time soon. Once the I-130 is approved it goes to storage until your PD is close to being current (another 2 yrs according to current bulletin).
