You know what I meant.

I think if a spouse just gets fat after marriage just because (s)he wants to, that's a bit like false advertising, bait/switch. I'd be hella pissed off. Illness is another story though...

Eta: I wouldn't leave my spouse over it, though.

Mine tried that. My Irish-Catholic-Spoiled Princess-Mother is the queen of guilt. My guilt sensor is set on ignore. However, I am not immune to the wounded-look-i-am-crying thing yet.

Yeah I know that one too. Mine has this one look that looks like she is disappointed and wounded. then she proceeds to make my fave meal, makes me happy in other ways and generally makes me feel like an Ahole for refusing her what she sees as a little thing but I see as torture.blink.gif

The super obligated/guilt routine is a classic for a very good reason, it still works and if this doesn't get you then the waterworks will.
