Good day!

Thank God we have finally received our schedule of appointment for Biometrics. Just wanna be sure and prepared, are there some available Guidelines on what to prepare or Dos and Don'ts during Biometrics? Please let me know coz I don't wanna mess around with this step so we won't delay our Adjustment of Status process. Thanks! God bless :)

It's very straightforward - get fingerprints taken, a photo taken and a signature recorded.

The only advice I have is to take care of your hands between now and then because if they can't get good prints, you will be rescheduled.

N-400

Feb. 12, 2016 - Sent N-400 to USCIS (3-year rule)

Feb. 19, 2016 - NOA1

Mar. 14, 2016 - Biometrics

June 2, 2016 - Interview - Recommended for Approval

There is nothing to prepare for as the previous poster said.

Take your letter and some ID.

They will give you forms to fill out, then wait for your number to be called.

Go up, get finger prints taken, confirm information, get a picture taken, and youre done.

Make sure your hands are free of oils - ie handcreams, gels etc. If you suffer sweaty palms, ask if you can wash (and thoroughly dry) your hands before prints are taken. Normally, the technician will verify that the prints are ok while you're there. If you're a woman, make sure that you're not wearing shiny or reflective makeup as this can create blurs on the photo, and that photo will be on the front of your green card for as long as it's valid. :)

Generally, you're in and out within about 10-15 minutes, provided they are running to time.

As others have said: don't forget to take your biometrics appointment letter and ID.

I had my biometrics taken this week. You just have to bring with you some type of ID,passport or ID card, the notice that you have received by mail for the biometrics interview and just in case bring your marriage certificate because they wanted to check my maiden family name and my new last name. That's all. Everything took less than 15 minutes. Good luck :-)

Don't forget to take your marriage cert if you've changed your name as your ID documents will probably be in your maiden name but your AOS letter will be in married so you need proof that the letter is "you".
