What a bummer! Visa gender error! What?!

Just when things seems great, it turned out a mess. I was all excited yesterday knowing my visa will come, yeah it did, but upon checking in all the information, they mess up my son's visa. Instead of a MALE, they put FEMALE. I called the Immigrant Visa Unit right away and they told me it needs to be corrected. Two options were given:

1. To send it back to 2go and wait for it to be sent back

2. Hand it personally and might take up to 2-3 days. Or if lucky, will be printed right away if its expedite.

Damn! How could they over looked such small information but means so much? Of course I opted for option number 2 since our flight is gonna be on Saturday. Yes, Saturday at 31st. My fiancé booked a ticket for us right away and we flew all the way from Mindanao to Manila even if there is a typhoon. By the time we arrived in Manila today, we headed directly to the Embassy and the guard told me they are only operating half day. Wow! Lucky me, Isn't it?:angry: He advised me to come back tomorrow as early as 8 in the morning.

Now, I am all tense knowing our flight is gonna be on Saturday. I dont wanna miss it nor rebook it cos we will lose half of what we paid for the ticket. Its costly and it isn't a joke.

I just hope when I come back tomorrow, they'll expedite it and have it reprinted the same day. It isnt my fault, its theirs. If only they knew how much inconvenience it caused us. I even thought I still have more days to spend time with my family but I am forced to leave as early as today :crying:

To those who had the same experience please share.

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

Hey fellow March filers... Looky, Jacque and Gerry and Dante & Geor. Thanks buddies! :)

I am hoping that you guys will be reunited again with your beloved. Approvals, approvals and more approvals are coming your way. So just seat back, relax and enjoy. At some point when everything is done, you will look back and just say, those stress are nothing. Believe me, its gonna be all worth it in the end. God bless :)
