You're missing the point. You create bigots out of people who would not normally be 'bigoted' towards one group or another. This is a natural human reaction to something that's treated differently.

If you take a group of people of mixed race for example and keep them together for a year, treat them as normal "John, Tracy, Eli, Beth, and Jane." You never talk about the color of their skin, you never bring race up in an instance, then those people will most likely get along and when they part there will be no animosity.

If you do the same thing however with the same group and point out, "Eli is black, Jane is hispanic, John is gay" and you make this a focal point of the group in praising their accomplishments, then you are creating a scenario in which these individuals are no longer looked at as a part of the whole, but as their own instances who are treated as not equal to the ones who are not mentioned based on their race. This time when the group parts, you're leaving a situation of resentment towards those who were focused on based on how they looked.

For a society to have harmony, they don't need to be of the same skin color. However they do need to be treated as equals. You cannot treat someone as an equal on one hand however and point out their inequality on another. You have to treat them all as human beings, as Americans, and not some sub-set of that.

These are social constructs that can be modified as times change. Check into that. People and the societies they constitute do change over time, and that does not need to be a negative. Save for the bigots, of course.

You cannot treat members of a society as 'normal' and 'equal' when you defend what is in your opinion, a natural bigoted behavior rooted in an immutable human sociology. Do you not see the fail in your logic?

Furthermore, you failed at reading once again.

I did not create any class, and you continue to ignore the historical and present consequences of history. Why is this?

Identity politics need not be driven by resentful bigots. This is what whining about it does- give fuel to bigots that use groups' self-segregation and societal recognition of groups as a rallying point while at the same time pushing for social agendas that very much discriminate against those same groups. Why is this?

Why ignore?

Why are you worried about it? How does it affect your day to day life if someone is a homosexual?

Because I find it sick and demented.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Screw tolerance. It's a sickness that shouldn't be promoted.

I know you are trying to be annoying. Thankfully those that think like you are less each year (they just like to be 'loud' on the internet and at times, do insane things like shoot a bunch of kids at Summer Camp). The disease that is intolerance is slowly being cured. This must make you very happy. I know it makes me happy.

See you don't know jack. I'm not trying to be annoying, I truly find it sick, disgusting, and demented. Don't assume anything about my postings.

Read the my post you quoted. Why do you find it so difficult that a lot of people find that kind of behavior sick, disgusting, and demented? Is it really that difficult for you to understand ?

I apologize. Instead of annoying, you're just being a bigot.

Save your PC bs. It's sick and disgusting...end of story.

Hey if you want your kids exposed to that lifestyle than I believe you have problems. I don't like the sh*t, and I don't want it around my family. They are a bunch of sick, disgusting, and mentally screwed up people.

So they learn that gay people aren't "sick and demented" and so that they don't turn into homophobic bigots?

Ya they are sick and demented. Tell me if you think some guy giving another dude a rim job isn't f*cked up?

I haven't ignored anything. I'm pointing out the consequence of history, especially modern history. If anything you've ignored my points on this about today's young adults/current youth being sme of the most racist/bigoted in history due to the effects of this type of legislation.

The fuel is given to bigots when peope are treated as a 'special class.' That's what you're missing here. Things ilke affirmative action sound good on the outside, but they are filled with bigotry and racism by promoting the idea that a certain race or group is sub-par and not good enough to do it on their own. That they need an 'extra push' in the right direction.

By trying to be 'equal' you are at the same time being inequal, and that's where the problem comes in.

A lot of perceived bigots aren't even bigots at all either, they are just sick of certain groups being treated differently or 'special.'

Let me ask you, if a black man and a white man walk into a place and the black man instroduces himself as "Mike, the black guy," how do you think the reaction would be versus him just introducing himself as "Mike." Once you have created the perception of someone being labelled as different, is the moment that society will treat them differently.

You want equality in society? You want perception in society to be equal? Then you need to treat everyone as equal. If John (who's white) invents a new technology, then it's "John invented said item." If Bill (who's black) invents a new technoogy, then it's "Bill invented said item." - It SHOULD NEVER be "Bill who's black invented said technoogy."

If you truly want minimized bigotry/racism in society, then you have a create the perception that no one is different, that no one is inequal. We fail to do this each and every day though. Groups do it to themselves as well and it's why the "Gay community" gets ALOT of flack from people who otherwise might not give a damn. When you're loud and boisterous, and point out that you are indeed different, then don't be shocked when the rest of society treats you are being different.
